Boat ramp and beach area Part 1

The final section of this front half of the build is a 6 baseplate wide section which will contain a storage area next to the Police/Fire station, large fence, a boat ramp with area for a restaurant  and then a beach area and wharf for small pleasure craft to dock against.
Building up the base, I used blue baseplates at the front as these will be tiled and plated over to form the water surface. Still undecided on how that will look.
The security fence being built. This will protect the port from the riff raff who may try and come and steal goods form the site.
Fence completed and rock work and boat ramp done as well. I may change the boat ramp to be a different colour, or change it's design, but it is there now for planning purposes.
The next section joined up and more rockwork done.
A long view looking down the build table, 10 baseplates deep.
The new wharf in place for the pleasure craft to dock.

Water police and fire boat station

I have created a building that is one half water Police , and one half Fire boat station. This will be the command centre for the operations of these boats.
I didn't take any photo's of the early parts of the build, but here it is as I am planning out the roof.
The first floor and roof are removable so that you can look inside and see the offices.
Here is a view of the back of the building, with parking spaces and the gas transfer station beside it.
 More pic's to follow.

A wharf for the police and fire boats at the sea port

I have added a new wharf for the police and fire boats to dock at. This is a timber dock that sits to the right of the gas transfer station and which will have a police and fire station at the end of it.
The wharf has been made long enough to handle a police and fire boat on either side. I have sets for this, which I will slightly modify to my own tastes.
I have decided to make this wharf in a dark tan using the printed tiles from the 70907 Killer Croc Tail-Gator set form the Lego Batman Movie , mixed in with other tan tiles.
 Edges done!
Halfway there, and some bins and boxes added to not make it so plain.
All finished!  This sits on a 1x2  323x32 baseplate size section.

Gas transfer station for my sea port

Seeing as I have a LNG ship now, it will need to offload it's gas somewhere.
So I built a small transfer station that has storage tanks and will link up to a station where it can transfer the gas to trucks for transportation.
The inside of the section, showing how I support the bricks and plate that goes on top.
 Gas storage towers built

Side view of the storage facility, with small fence in place and lighting.
There is a small office on the site for the manager to enjoy a hot beverage in whilst the workers operate the equipment.
A shot with better lighting, and showing some containers stack behind the facility.

Some containers I have built for the ships, trains and trucks to transport about the Lego city

I have built up 2 sizes of containers for the city, one is based on the Maersk container on the 10219 set. Mine require an extra stud when storing them on a ship as the doors I have added stick out a little bit.
The second style is custom from me and is 34 studs long, but as the doors stick out at each end, it requires 36 studs of space on a train, ship or truck.

Here are some samples of the shorter containers, these ones are fuel containers.

Here is an example of the longer container, this time a diesel storage  container.
End view of large container with custom doors
Container on custom bed for truck
Custom bed for trucks that fits the containers perfectly
On the back of a Maersk truck from the 10219 set, although I will be making my own trucks to tow these.
Container on the back of the truck
 Lego custom container
I have used the standard doors on these, rather than brick built.
Maersk style container, but with custom doors.
Big red container on train wagon
Custom train wagon to take the containers. I think I based it on a shorter Lego designed one, I can't remember the set name though
Side view of the large container.

Liquid natural gas ship

I built up this simple LNG ship that will have a facility built into the port for unloading the gas into storage containers at the docks.

I started out with the ship hull from the Coast guard set 60167, and some of the tan domes from Star Wars Obi Wan hut 75270 to make the LNG tanks for the ship.
I didn't take any pictures during the build process, but here it is in an almost finished state.
I'm not sure about the light tan colour of the cabin of the ship, I may change it out, or put some stickers on it. I will also get some stickers for the side of the hull, maybe some Octan or 3rd party stickers.

Truck loading bays, watch tower and container storage yard

I built up a parking area for trucks to have containers loaded onto them, space to store the short containers, and also a mock up of what will be a tower that can oversea the docks. The tower will be built with more detail in the future when I come up with a design I like.
Laying LBG tiles is always fun!
The train track will curve away to a set of points on the section behind this one.
Bollards added to stop the trucks going onto the train and crane tracks.
Also some barriers along the waters edge to protect the workers who can walk between them and the bollards.
A truck parked up ready to be unloaded by the crane.
Parking area and mock up tower in palce.
Some small containers stored away.
The container storage area will also extend onto the section behind

Coast Guard station

I have built up the Coast Guard station that will be on one end of the port, with moorings for my 4 Coast Guard ships.
I am not sure if I will keep the curved end of the station just yet, but I threw that in as a tribute to the Lego sets from the theme that used these parts.
Computer stations and some stores are in place.

2 floors completed and the roof is one.

Car park at the back for the CG vehicles.
 Tiling done at the front
Tiling completed in the rear car park and some bollards

A couple of bins out the back
Almost complete, although I think I need to add a few more crates etc around
A big Coast Guard sign for the roof is next
